How do I know if I need coaching?

There are several indicators that it’s time to consider hiring a coach. It can be when you’ve exhausted everything you know how to do and remain stuck in an untenable situation. It can also be when you recognize that your actions are not aligned with your values, but you are unsure how to get yourself aligned. Or, it may be that you are not achieving the results you want efficiently and are ready to put in the hard work to confront self-sabotaging patterns.

What type of coaching do you provide?

We provide behavioral parent coaching based on the principles of applied behavior analysis.  This means I spend a lot of time teaching and helping my clients practice how to: 1. Identify motivators of their own behavior (e.g., impatience, yelling, anger, work/life balance, etc..)  2. Change environmental factors by establishing effective routines (e.g., self-care, morning, homework, nighttime, etc.) 3. Use appropriate consequences with consistency. Coaching sessions include training, role-playing, and progress-monitoring.

Difference between coaching and therapy?

Therapists analyze their client’s past as a tool for understanding present behavioral patterns, whereas coaches simply identify and describe current problematic behaviors so the client can work to modify them. In other words, therapists focus on “why” certain behavioral patterns occur, and coaches work on “how” to work toward a goal.

Do you provide on-line parent coaching?
